WHY DOES TEMPLE BAPTIST HAVE A STRONG COMMITMENT TO MISSIONS?

1. God commands it. We are to spread the Gospel to the whole world. Acts 1:8 "and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

2. God provides a means to fulfill and to accomplish this command. I Corinthians 16:1-2 "Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week, let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come."

3. God promises fruit to our account in Heaven when we give. Philippians 4:16-17 "ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift; but I desire fruit that may abound to your account."

4. It calls for personal commitment; and it provides satisfaction. Matthew 25:21 "His lord said unto him, 'Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
